Flickerfest 2010 has drawn a record 1500 entries for the program in its 19th year as Australia’s only Academy® Award accredited Short Film festival.  The program covers three competitive categories, International, Australian and Documentary.

FLICKERFEST 2009 Tour continues to wend its way through the country, last week taking fabulous films out the back of Regional NSW... Central, Mid & North Coast NSW, NT & SA

Last night under the summer skies, Flickerfest held a fabulous Awards ceremony to announce the winners of the 18th International Short Film Festival. A full list of winners follows, but awards included the Coopers Award for Best Film in the International section, which was awarded to Dennis from Demark, directed by Mads Matthiesen and the Yoram Gross Award for Best Animation Short Film which went to Don Hertzfeld's I Am So Proud of You, from the USA. Both of these awards are Academy accredited, making the films eligibel for Oscar nomination.

Flickerfest International Short Film Festival is in full swing with record Opening Night crowds and a great response to all of our programmes so far.
We still have many exceptional films to screen over the next 5 days including a very strong line-up of Australian talent, multi award-winning shorts from around the world, our Celebrity Shorts Special and our ode to amour – the Love Bites programme.

ANNOUNCING AUSTRALIA’S FIRST EVER TV SERIES DEDICATED TO SHORT FILMS !  Launching April 2009

Flickerfest – Australia’s premier international short film festival – launched its 18th annual program at an intimate star-studded event at Bondi’s Icebergs Dining Room and Bar on Tuesday 9th December 2008.

The IF Award for 2008 Festival Of The Year was presented to Flickerfest  last Thursday, 14th of November, at a star-studded ceremony on the Gold Coast at the 10th annual IF Awards.

With a record 1350 entries from around the globe this year, “Flickerfest continues to attract the latest in cutting-edge and award-winning shorts from the world’s most exciting new filmmakers” said  Festival Director, Bronwyn Kidd. “This guarantees that the festival presents our Australian audiences with a short film competition amongst the best in the world.
