The final episode of the premiere series of Flickerfest On EXTRA, will have you jumping out of your seats this Friday night at 10:30pm with the scary thriller ADVANTAGE. Tune in to MOVIE EXTRA to see why this film has been such a success, accepting a host of awards worldwide and “Get set for one hell of a night”!
Our host Damian Walshe-Howling chats with actress Shelley Lauman and editor/producer Andy Canny. In their interview with Damian they talk about the burgeoning talent of director Sean Byrne (currently directing his first feature – The Loved Ones) and meeting the master of genre film Quentin Tarantino at the Sundance Film Festival.
This week we also delve into the most emotive part of the film process: sound. Without it, films are just photographs! Wayne Pashley and Martin Oswin were responsible for the soundscape of Baz Luhrmann’s latest epic Australia. They show us what they do, and how the art of foley and ADR can make or break a film.
Our final film of this series is the moving and intimate family story BLACK TALK where 'Two cousins reunite one last time' directed by multi award-winning actor and film and theatre director Wayne Blair. Wayne is one of Australia’s most celebrated Indigenous filmmakers. An outspoken advocate of Aboriginal roles in the media, his interview with Damian is candid and inspiring. He has a big future and bounds with energy and desire to tell great stories.
